GINA RODRIGUEZ Among Big Winners at 72nd Golden Globe Awards

The  72nd annual Golden Globe Awards, announced Sunday, Jan. 11, in Beverly Hills, Calif., by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association bonored the best in television and motion pictures. Among the big winners were Gina Rodriguez, star of “Jane the Virgin” for Best Actress, television musical or comedy, and Michael Keaton for  Best Actor, film musical or comedy in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s “Birdman.”

In accepting the award Rodriguez said,”This award is so much bigger than myself. It represents a culture that wants to see themselves as heroes. My dad used to tell me: ‘Today’s a great day — you can and you will,'” she added. “Well, Dad, today’s a great day, and I can and I did!”
