Historic Voyage & National Cognac Day with HENNESSY

June 4 marks National Cognac Day and the eve of the arrival of the historic ship Hermione, a recreation of the ship that delivered American Revolutionary hero Marquis de Lafayette in 1780 to General Washington with full French aid. In celebration of Hermione Voyage 2015 and Hennessy’s 250th anniversary, Hennessy has created a cocktail inspired by the Lafayette family motto, Cur Non, which translates to “Why Not?” and represents his spirit of adventure.

Barrels of Cognac were on Lafayette’s original journey in 1780, and two barrels of a limited edition Hennessy 250 Collector Blend are on board the ship heading to the U.S.  Hennessy has donated the two barrels to charities, each of which is expected to fetch upwards of $150,000 for worthy causes.
