As tequila fans around the world prepare to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Patrón Tequila has released a new commemorative gift tin to celebrate Mexico’s rich artistic tradition. The limited edition collector’s tin was created by Mexican artist Adrian Dominguez who specializes in designs with ornamental and organic style. Inside the tin is another artistic masterpiece, a 750ml bottle of ultra-premium Patrón Silver tequila.

Born in Mexico City, and residing now in Queretaro, Dominguez’s art is greatly influenced from nature and the ancient culture of his homeland. For this custom work for the Patrón gift tin, he was inspired by Aztec and Mayan lore, choosing two divine figures to depict on the tin, the fierce jaguar and the tranquil peacock. The jaguar, “Tezcatlipoca,” is one of the most powerful gods of the spiritual pantheon who ruled the night sky with its piercing green eyes. Balancing the jaguar’s strength is “Dzul Cutz,” the peacock that acquired its colorful feathers through a tale of ambition that has been passed down for centuries. The other sides of the tin include an image of the Patrón Silver bottle, and the removable cover is adorned with the signature Patrón bee emblem.

“Mexico is our home. It’s where Patrón was born decades ago, in the small town of Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco, and where we still handcraft all of our tequila sold around the world. And now with this beautiful new Mexican Heritage gift tin, we proudly celebrate the art and culture of the country we’re privileged to call home,” said Lee Applbaum, Global Chief Marketing Officer at Patrón Spirits. “It’s the perfect pairing of Mexican artistry.”

The limited edition collector’s tin is available for purchase now, in time for Cinco de Mayo, at fine wine and spirits retailers in select markets in the U.S. and Mexico; it will also be available in duty free stores. The average suggested retail price of Patrón Silver (750ml) in the U.S., is $44.99.

The gift package joins a group of other exclusive Patrón tins, introduced in select markets and in limited quantities over the past several years. In 2015, contemporary Mexican artist Verónica Villarreal Sada designed an Aztec-inspired keepsake tin featuring two Aztec deities, “Quetzalcóatl,” the feathered serpent, and “Tonatiuh,” the sun god. Other limited edition tins have celebrated Chinese New Year, and regional locales such as London, Israel, Brazil, and

Patrón Silver is handcrafted in small batches from the highest quality 100 percent Weber Blue Agave, and distilled and bottled at the Hacienda Patrón distillery in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Patrón Silver’s taste is sweet, with fresh agave and citrus, and a light pepper finish.
