New York: Steak Frites

28 Jun 2009 by admin in Home

With a warm relaxed atmosphere, touches of oak paneling, and intimate lighting Steak Frites is the perfect answer to late night dining in downtown Manhattan.  The Parisian style contemporary bistro has a menu by Adam Greenberg that maintains the traditional classics with updated new selections.

The restaurant moved to its current location in early 2008 after years in Union Square where it gained a reputation for exquisite regional fare.  Its loyal following and new devotees now eagerly head south in search of ‘Steak Frites,’ the traditional French staple that gives the restaurant its name.

The menu has been revised and includes house specialties ‘Entrecote de Paris Steak Frites’ (dry-aged rib eye with house cut fries) and

‘Moules Frites’ (Nova Scotia harvested mussels, in white wine sauce served with pommes frites) along with fresh standards ‘Gulf Shrimp & Jumbo Lump Crabmeat Cocktail,’ ‘Pan Seared Sea Scallops ‘served with lobster & spring vegetable risotto and the ‘Meat Packing District Bolognese’ with truffle essence & parmesano.

The French ambiance, reminiscent of an evening on the Left Bank, is completed with live music ranging from lively Jazz to mellow bossa nova.  Steak Frites has an outdoor Café and a private wine room that can accommodate 14 guests, ideal for business meetings or a memorable dinner for friends.

Steak Frites ofrece exquisita comida Francesa en un ambiente relajado en el bajo  Manhattan.  El restaurante está abierto tarde por la noche y cuenta con música en vivo.
