Continuing the celebration of The Legend Series, which marks SeaVees50th year anniversary, the shoe brand has collaborated with Make Smith Leather Co. to produce a limited edition run of items, with all proceeds benefitting the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF).

The limited edition items – custom belts ($88), key chains ($48) and iPhone covers ($98) – are now available for purchase exclusively through SeaVees.com

Make Smith Leather Co. founder Steven Soria learned his craft from his father and grandfather. “The shop was my playground, and the hammer and cutting straps were my toys,” he recalls.

The use for handcrafted leather has changed over the years. When Soria’s grandfather first opened shop, it was a saddle making company. His father took the business in a new direction, focusing on luggage and purses. By starting Make Smith Leather Co., Soria has again refreshed the craft, creating leather goods that are not only relevant to today’s modern consumer, but that are also timeless.

“We all have a piece or two of Make Smith here at SeaVees,” said Steven Tiller, CEO and Chief Designer of SeaVees. “His product has an obvious integrity that resonates with us. And his story: one family, three generations, all skillfully adapting to society’s tastes and needs. That’s legendary.”

In keeping with SeaVees’ Legend Series, the proceeds from the SeaVees x Make Smith Leather Co. items, as well as 10% of sales from the SeaVees Sorrento Sandshoe sold during the time period of their collaboration will directly benefit HSF – the nation’s largest not-for-profit organization supporting Hispanic American higher education, selected by Soria to continue to honor his heritage and legacy.
