SPAIN: Simply The Best.

Say goodbye to the naysayer, and hello to the best football team in the world! Spain clearly demonstrated it supremacy by annihilating a clearly over matched Italy. Thus, La Roja, retained their European
soccer champion title and became the first team to win three successive major
tournaments. Spain was untouchable against its toughest
opponents and beat Italy 4-0 at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine.

Even though Spain’s player
configuration was somewhat unorthodox – playing without a traditional striker,
with six midfielders – the skeptics were silenced after a brilliantly executed first
half. Italy tried to attack in vain, its players eventually over matched, just like all other teams before.

Spain delivered a true
performance with skewering passes, impregnable defense and aggressive offence, swiftly taking control from the first few minutes. The team scored two goals quickly, first in the 14th minute from a header by David Silva,
and again at the 41st minute from Jordi Alba.

In the second half Italy
used the last of their three substitutions, with Antonio Di Natale and Thiago
Motta coming into the match. Motta however soon left the game after injuring his
hamstring forcing Italy to continue one player short
for the rest of the match. With the score at 2-0, an Italian revival became
impossible.

Spain was able to increase their lead to 4 – 0 with goals from Fernando Torres in the 84th
minute, and from Juan Mata in the 88th minute.

As a result, Spain ended up
winning their second straight European Championship and their third straight
major tournament title after winning Euro 2008 and 2010 World Cup.

The finality of Spain’s victory
could be read from the shocked faces of the Italian fans – the Skuadra Adzura did their best with defense but it was no match La Roja. Italy has nothing to be ashamed as it can justifiably boast of four World Cups
wins, but the Euro ’2012 return home to La Madre Patria.
