One of the most talented and beautiful actresses working in film is coming to a theater near you March 15. Olivia Wilde holds her own in the comedy department along Jim Carrey, Steve Carell, and Steve Buscemi in the hilarious “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.” This week Wilde has been on the news for her playful criticism of
Justin Beiber.  After tweeting ‘Put your shirt back on!’ the ravishing beauty is back to business in an exclusive interview with HOMBRE.

Since gaining recognition as Dr. Remy Hadley in the FOX Series ‘House,’ Olivia Wilde has moved on to film stardom opposite some big names. Her recent co-stars include Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig (“Cowboys and Aliens”), Justin Timberlake (“In Time”) and Jeff Bridges (“Tron: Legacy”). Now she flexes her comedy muscle with Jim Carrey, Steve Carell, and Steve Buscemi in “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.” In our exclusive conversation she reveals her experiences in making the film.

HOMBRE: What made you want to be a part of this film?

Olivia Wilde: I could not believe that someone hadn’t made a comedy about Las Vegas magicians before. It seemed so obviously juicy as material for a comedy. I loved how classic it seemed in terms of the tone of the comedy and the themes. It was something that made me think about classic comedies that I grew up with and was really inspired to be a part of.

H: Tell us about ‘Jane’ your character in the film?

OW:  Jane is an aspiring magician. We don’t really know that until she reveals it to Burt toward the end of the film. She finds herself thrust literally into the role of magician’s assistant which was something she never wanted to be. She wanted to be a magician, but she was working behind the scenes as a tech hand and because Burt needed a last minute replacement for an assistant she gets dressed suddenly as ‘Nicole.’ She becomes ‘Nicole’ with a blonde wig and a sequins cowboy-like cheerleader outfit.

H: How was it working opposite Jim Carrey?

OW: It was really kind of incredible to watch Jim work. I grew up watching Jim Carrey and it was just incredible to watch the process. He is such a perfectionist. He works at level 11 all the time. He is 100% committed to every line, every movement and I really felt struck by his physical comedy which is of course he is well known for, but it was like watching a dancer.

H: You worked with two brilliant actors, Steve Buscemi and Steve Carrell, how was the experience of sharing the screen with them?

OW: There is something just brilliantly hilarious about the two of them together. They both are kind of eager and their characters are just so hilarious. Steve Buscemi is the most adorable human being who has ever lived and I just can watch him doing anything. His choices as Anton are just so delightful. I think every time he is on screen people will just be giddy. He and Steve Carell work so well together. Their banter, the amount of improvisation that made it into the film because of how well they bounce off each other, it’s just astonishing. They are just really great.

H: Why should HOMBRE readers see this film?

OW: People should see this film because magic is hilarious. The world of magic is hilarious. The characters are really wonderful. The script is really tight and hilarious and good. The cast is fantastic. It’s fresh but it also has the elements that make it a classic comedy.
