Juan del Potro is the new King of Tennis. In an exciting final del Potro proved himself as the new man to beat by besting top seed Roger Federer. Federer’s defeat shattered his dream of becoming the first man in modern history to win six straight trophies at the same event

Fulfilling his dream, the 20-year-old, sixth seeded Argentinian triumphed 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 to pick up his first US Open title.

Del Potro reached the final after beating Rafael Nadal and became the first Argentinian since Guillermo Vilas to win the coveted title.
