With rousing performances by fun., Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift the 55th Annual Grammy Awards honored the best in music. Highlights included the musical return of Justin Timberlake (joined by Jay Z) and a rousing tribute to Bob Marley with Bruno Mars, Sting, Rihanna and Ziggy and Damian Marley. The Latin Pop Album of the Year went to Juanes – who also briefly performed –  and multiple winners included The Black Keys with four for best rock performance, best rock album and best rock song, as well as producer of the year for Auerbach. Gotye, Skrillex and Jay-Z and Kanye West were tied with three awards apiece.

Miguel won for R&B Song and was the big surprise of the night with a standing ovation winning performance while presenting an award.

Although we applaud the Grammys for featuring Juanes in abbreviated performance of “Your Song,” we look forward to the day when the show presents a complete performance by a Latin music nominee. And even though we at HOMBRE are fans of Elton John we would have preferred to hear one of the most accomplished singer/ songwriters in Latin music history sing one of his original songs – in SPANISH!
