There are two viruses afflicting this nation: the pandemic with a death toll of over 100,000 deaths and over 40 million unemployed, and the ingrained racism cutting off the lifeblood of too many people of color.

The George Floyd murder was just the latest injustice. But there have been too many other senseless killings of innocent Black men and women.
The sad fact is that racism isn’t always filmed, it doesn’t always end in a death seen around the world by millions – forcing emotional, political, and corporate reactions.

Sometimes racism hides under a promotion not given, that job application being thrown in the trash, that unjustified arrest, sometimes it’s that longer than deserved prison sentence.
This system of oppression has to be dismantled. The ongoing protests are making obvious the blatant inequities and forcing a nation to look within and make a change.
This is an opportunity to start over and truly live up to the Constitution’s ideals of equal ‘Justice, domestic Tranquility, general Welfare, and the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity…’
Let’s turn this page of American unfairness and begin a new chapter of equality and acceptance.

Our mission at HOMBRE has always been to showcase success, to feature the achievement of Latinos that too often go unnoticed. To prove there are trillions of dollars of spending power in a sometimes marginalized community that can indulge in the ultimate symbols of luxury. We have made it our mission to focus on the positive. To destroy stereotypes and avoid senseless negative content.
This is a Media Company founded in the belief of an American dream where anyone can rise to the top through dedication and hard work. Just look at our website’s ‘Profiles’ section to find endless examples.
Unfortunately for too many that dream is a nightmare, a place where innate abilities and skills are not able to flourish simply because of the color of one’s skin.
That should be no more. We can not be silent. It is a responsibility for all of us.
There are too many injustices going on all around our nation as we remain uninvolved if it doesn’t personally affect us directly.
This has to change.

Just as the ‘Me Too’ movement grew to make radical changes in society, so can the Black Lives Matter movement.
The George Floyd murder has ignited a tidal wave that should be the beginning of a New United States of America.
A country with far less unjustness, far more tolerance, and most of all less prejudice and racism.
Let’s all be the change we want to see in the world.
And come November take to the ultimate protest within our grasp: THE POWER TO VOTE.
