This year, for National Tequila Day in New York City, make your way to  Sake No Hana and The Highlight Room at Moxy LES for exciting celebrations. Or enjoy their top tequila libations curated by Corporate Beverage Manager Erin Davey, at home with the cocktail recipes below.

The Ziggy Basara at Sake No Hana is a unique twist on the classic margarita infused with kombu, black pepper, plum, and cherry. The Fxxking Rabbits at Sake No Hana is a sweet cocktail blending Mexican agave traditions and Japanese fashion together. Lastly, the Smoking Dove is The Highlight Room’s take on the Paloma combining mezcal, tequila, and grapefruit juice.

Ziggy Basara

1.5 oz Mijenta Blanco tequila

.25 oz Gray Whale gin

.25 oz Ume plum liqueur

1 oz lime juice

.75 oz black pepper-infused agave syrup

1 umeboshi(muddled)

Method: Add umeboshi to a tin and muddle, then add the rest of the ingredients plus ice. Shake to combine and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

Fxxking Rabbits 

1.5 oz La Gritona Reposado tequila

.5 oz Altos Blanco tequila

1 oz lime juice

1.5 oz matcha vanilla syrup

7-8 mint leaves

Method: Add all ingredients to a tin with ice. Shake and strain into a tall glass. Garnish with a mint sprig.

Smoking Dove 

1 oz Ilegal Joven mezcal

.5 oz La Gritona Reposado tequila

.5 oz Empirical Spirits Ayuuk blend

1.5 oz grapefruit juice

.5 oz lime juice

.5 oz chamomile mint syrup

Top with soda water

Method: Add all ingredients(except soda) to a tin with ice and shake. Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with a mint sprig.
