From its intimate location and arts-focused approach, to its sleek design, it’s clear that boutique Hotel El Ganzo has a vibe of its own. Now, the hotel has a wine of its own too. The property’s new El Ganzo Red Blend is a red wine made in Valle de Guadalupe, often called the Napa of Baja, and poured exclusively in the hotel.
Ever-committed to local sustainability, El Ganzo’s Red Blend is produced by Emeve winery, of Baja California’s famed wine region, Ensenada. The ruby red vino includes Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Shiraz, hinting at cherry, cranberry and plum notes but offset with touches of red pepper, vanilla, soft velvet tannins and a smoky aroma. This new blend is yet another step in the property’s path of supporting and promoting local producers.
A medium- to full-bodied wine, El Ganzo Red Blend complements the hotel’s dining options – featuring organic herbs and vegetables grown in the hotel’s garden – and its farm-to-table dining philosophy. The 13.5 percent-per-volume blend is aged for six months in French oak barrels before it reaches the glasses of El Ganzo guests, where it pairs well with beef, lamb, chicken and pork.
“Hotel El Ganzo is all about curated experiences, from the music that plays throughout the hotel, to the sights and the flavor of our signature wine,” said General Manager Ella Messerli. “Everything in the hotel has been carefully crafted to engage our guests’ senses and create long-lasting memories.”
Just 20 minutes from San Jose International Airport lies an artist haven without comparison. Hotel El Ganzo exudes a cool, barefoot elegance from the tip of its rooftop sushi bar, to the edge of the dramatic infinity pool overlooking Marina Puerto Los Cabos, and right down into the underground recording studio, where resident artists and visiting performers work their magic.
Travelers looking to continue to savor their El Ganzo experience post-trip can purchase a bottle to take home in their checked luggage; prices start at $50 USD.
