One of Chile‘s most successful wines has now arrived in U.S. soil. Viña Tarapacá has been crafting high quality wines since 1874 from within the heart of the Maipo Valley; finally this fine brand is available at your fine retailer nearby.
“We are very excited about entering the US market, as American consumers will finally be able to enjoy the Gran Reserva range, just like consumers in England, Brazil, Japan and the Czech Republic. For this reason, we have been named, “The Gran Reserva of Chile”, which we now use as our motto. A clear example of this has been the unexpected success of our Etiqueta Azul range, which was launched just 4 months ago and is now completely sold-out. With this new range, we hope to please fine wine lovers, as well as the most demanding wine writers in the U.S.,” commented Viña Tarapacá’s Pilar Moreno.
Viña Tarapacá is located in the Metropolitan Region, only 90 kilometers from Santiago, in the Maipo Valley. This area is one of the most prominent winemaking and offers unique and complex wines, which result from a gentle extraction of the character of each terroir, and highlight each wine’s origin.
Chief among Viña Tarapacá production is The Gran Reserva label. These wines stand out for their burgundy bottle, and their high quality. They come from the heart of the Maipo Valley, and are crafted for those who prefer full-bodied wines with a perfect combination of fruit and oak.
The 2011 Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 19 different lots from the different areas within the Maipo Valley of Chile and 3% Cabernet Sauvigon from the Alto Cachapoal and 4% the Aconcagua Valley. Aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months prior to blending, the final blend has 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 6% Syrah.
Enjoy!
