Make The Most Of National Daiquiri Day (7/19)

With National Daiquiri Day coming up next week (July 19th), here’s a recipe to kick the celebration into high gear. Owney’s Rum is the key ingredient. There is no other white rum quite like it – smooth but with a true New York City edge.

Inspired by NYC rum runner Owen “Owney” Madden’s entrepreneurial spirit and true grit, Founder Bridget Firtle sought to revitalize the rum trade in New York City, with her unique take on the spirit.

Owney’s is made by blending still proof Distiller’s Reserve with filtered cask-strength Dominican rum. In addition to removing color, filtering helps temper some of the barrel notes from the aged rum, letting the Brooklyn distillate shine through. The proprietary rum blend is then brought to bottle proof with filtered NYC tap water.

So, if you want to celebrate National Daiquiri Day like a true New Yorker, grab a bottle of Owney’s Rum and make this deliciously refreshing classic Daiquiri.
