PRPS x Miles Davis Collaboration is a limited edition collection available exclusively at Neiman Marcus. The line is designed to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Davis’ seminal album Birth Of The Cool which redirected the trajectory of jazz; the 60th anniversary of the Kind Of Blue, his landmark recording which remains the best-selling jazz record ever; and the 50th anniversary of the revolutionary album In A Silent Way, where Davis went electric, creating a whole new musical genre.

Featuring a curated selection of recognizable Miles Davis imagery on classic tee shirts, hoodies and jackets, the collection marries the street art-centric roots of Prps and the musical genius of Miles Davis, who reinvented music every 10 years. With embroidery, patchwork details on the outside and inside and dynamic graphics, Prps, also known as an innovator in its ‘genre’, has created a must-have collection.

The Miles Davis anniversaries and milestones will also be marked, including the theatrical release of critically acclaimed documentary Miles Davis: Birth Of The Cool, by film maker Stanley Nelson, which premiered at Sundance this year. The film will be broadcast as part of PBS’s legendary American Master series in early 2020.

September also saw the release of Rubberband, a heretofore unreleased album for Warner Brothers of lost tapes from 1985, that was finished by the original producers in conjunction with the Miles Davis Estate. The album also features new contributions from vocalists Lalah Hathaway and Ledisi.

On November 8, Craft Recordings is releasing The Legendary Prestige Quintet Sessions, a box set comprising the complete revelatory marathon sessions Davis did for the label from 1955-56.
