Miller Lite is partnering with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) to provide $139,000 in college scholarships and leadership development opportunities through HACU’s ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute. This is the 18th year the company has partnered with HACU on the scholarship program. Eligible Latino students in the United States and Puerto Rico can now apply online for the scholarship through July 31.
The Miller Lite Brewed to be Bright scholarship program continues its longstanding relationship with HACU, a nonprofit that aims to improve access to and the quality of post-secondary educational opportunities for Hispanic students. Over the past two decades, Miller Lite has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to the Hispanic community to champion secondary education and professional development opportunities.
“Molson Coors recognizes the importance of supporting future leaders with diverse perspectives and backgrounds,” said Kayla Garcia, community affairs manager, Molson. “That’s why we’re incredibly proud of our 18-year relationship with HACU to help ensure access to higher education for Hispanic students. This partnership is just one of the ways Molson Coors is championing for inclusion and change in the communities we serve.”
A total of 29 scholarships between $2,500 and $5,000 will be awarded to Latino college students in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New York, Texas, Wisconsin and Puerto Rico. Scholarships are open to college students who are over 21 years of age, attend a HACU-member institution in a participating market, and are U.S. citizens, permanent residents or DACA recipients.
Scholarship winners will also receive a spot at the HACU ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute, the student track of HACU’s Annual Conference to be held in late October. Recipients will have the opportunity to join workshops and sessions focused on leadership and professional development, as well as participate in networking opportunities.
“We are truly grateful that our partnership with Miller Lite continues to positively affect Latino students as they pursue their higher education goals,” said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores. “It is collaborations such as this that will build a future with more diverse leaders and the perspectives they can bring.”
