Award-winning Tequila Avión has partnered with viral muralist, painter, and sculptor, Gustavo Zermeño Jr. to create an original artwork invoking the airbrush style that informs his street art that will be on display to view at the BEYOND THE STREETS and CONTROL Gallery’s UNDER PRESSURE exhibition in Los Angeles through December 23.

Zermeño Jr. is known to take inspiration from his subject matter with a lens that stays true to his Southern Californian roots. The original artwork serves as part of a larger body of work that celebrates southern California, community, and culture, paying homage to Chicano culture, centered in the ocean-lined street of his hometown, Venice, with parked vintage lowrider cars.

The limited-edition print will be available for purchase at BEYONDTHESTREETS.com for $200 until Tuesday, November 21, while supplies last.

The collaboration comes as a result of Gustavo’s trip to the Tequila Avión distillery in Mexico, where he witnessed the process of creating the Tequila Avión Reserva Range, which comprises two ultra-premium tequilas. The Reserva 44 Extra Añejo which is handcrafted in limited batches and boasts 44 unique, rich flavor notes, and Avión Cristalino, which is a unique blend of the finest añejo tequila, double charcoal filtered to achieve crystalline clarity and smoothness.

“I teamed up with Tequila Avión because we see eye to eye from an elevated vantage point.” Gustavo says. “I was inspired by the hand craftsmanship of the ultra-premium tequila made in limited batches, with agave slow roasted over three days. A parallel to how I create my own art, with a vision, by hand, and over-time.”
