Balcón is ready to kick off spring with the opening of its rooftop respite, situated atop of  The Marmara Park Avenue hotel. The chic, open air terrace sits 20 stories high, boasting breathtaking panoramic views of New York City’s skyline, including iconic landmarks such as the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building.

The elevator opens to a long hallway leading into the bar, with floor-to-ceiling windows and extending out onto the open terrace. Through the fully retractable glass doors, the terrace, with stylish lounge seating, includes plush couches, chairs, and elegant white marble high-tops. Here, guests can soak up the sun or moonlight and become enveloped in the sweeping city skyline.

In celebration of Balcón’s season opening on May 4th, they are hosting a Kentucky Derby themed party with complimentary hors d’oeuvres, “Mint Juleps”, Prosecco welcome toast, and craft cocktails available at the cash bar. The event is open to the public with entertainment by The Showmance Band and a live stream of the derby.

The season opening marks the debut of Balcón’s new globally inspired menu of shared and small plates, by Executive Chef Ömür Özkan, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu. Highlights include: Hot Dogs served with Pico de Gallo and chips, Turkey Club, and Cheese  and Charcuterie Platter, among other selections.

The beverage program features innovative cocktails such as Yasasini Spiritz, Aperol, Yasasin Sparking wine with soda, and Jalapeno & Cucumber, Blanco tequila, lime juice, agave, triple sec, jalapeño, and cucumber. Balcón offers an international wine selection that highlights the acclaimed Vinkara wines from Turkey, as well as Yeni Raki liqueur, the national drink of Turkey.
