This past November history was made in Las Vegas. We at HOMBRE were in the winner’s circle with Hennessy to witness Saúl Canelo Álvarez defeat Caleb Plant and become the Super Middleweight Undisputed Boxing Champion of the World. It was an unforgettable evening of top notch boxing, and the celebrations that only the best selling cognac in the world can deliver.

The fight’s pre-party began with Hennessy signature cocktails, and celebrities everywhere, excited to see another Canelo masterpiece. Among the those in attendance were Oscar de la Hoya, Mike Tyson, Nas, Fer Olvera from Mana, Poncho Lizzaraga, Dave Chapelle, and Henry Golding, among others.

Hennessy has long been a champion of those who push the limits of potential to achieve new levels of greatness. Longtime ambassador Saul “Canelo” Álvarez stepped in the ring to do something unprecedented – become the unified Super Middleweight boxing champion.
Canelo won the bout via eleventh-round technical knockout. He knocked his opponent to the canvas with a left hook right uppercut combination in the penultimate round, before closing in to drop Plant again, prompting the referee to call off the bout. With this win, he became only the sixth fighter to unify all belts in one division in the four-belt era

Canelo’s journey began as a youngster in the hometown of Guadalajara, dreaming of one day becoming champion. Now we are here,  at his “Sesenta,” his 60th professional fight, and arguably the most important bout of his storied career.
