Similar to its Mexican ancestors, Hornitos Tequila has a rich history of taking shots and breaking traditions that dates back to 1950 when Don Francisco Javier Sauza founded the brand. Since then it has continued to challenge the status quo throughout its history to set new standards.

In honor of Mexican Independence Day (September 16), and to honor the colors of the Mexican flag, the brand encourages those celebrating to create Hornitos green, white and red sangrita shot cocktails perfect for the holiday.

La Bandera (above)

  • 1 shot fresh lime juice
  • 1 shot sangrita*

Preparation: Pour each liquid into separate shot glasses and sip from each glass in traditional Mexican fashion – lime juice first, Hornitos Plata second and Sangrita to finish.
