Cielo Latino Gala Continues ‘Designing A World Without AIDS’ On Friday October 14th

Under the theme Designing a World Without AIDS, the Latino Commission on AIDS will pay tribute to the music industry, raise funds for its Latinos in the South program as it celebrates 15 years of providing services, and recognize important community leaders in its annual Cielo Gala scheduled for Friday October 14 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
Cielo Latino gala honorees include:
- Oscar Hernandez, Pianist and Musical Director of the Spanish Harlem Orchestra – Companero Award
- The Southern AIDS Coalition– Fuerza Award, accepted by Dafina Ward, J.D., Executive Director
- Steven Vargas – Dennis DeLeon Voz De Compromiso Award
- Harnaaz Sandhu, Miss Universe, 2022 Madrina
- Johnny Cruz, Founder, Spanish Harlem Salsa Museum, 2022 Padrino
The evening will be hosted by Alfredo Galvan, morning show host of 93.1 Amor’s La Bodega, the Grammy-winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra led by Oscar Hernandez will provide live entertainment during the event and DJ Missy B will play tracks into the night.
Also included in the evening’s activities is a silent auction featuring premium luxury items, travel excursions, and more.
The Cielo Gala raises funds in support of the Latino Commission on AIDS to create and promote HIV and AIDS service programs and initiatives aimed at increasing awareness, prevention, and treatment education for Latinos, as well as to build capacity among other HIV and AIDS organizations serving Latino communities throughout the U.S. and the Territories. Proceeds from the Gala will benefit the Commission and its community programs, including new initiatives to continue its education and prevention efforts among youth.
