New Yorker or tourist, if you’re interested in discovering a selection of New York City’s representative restaurants, all assembled in one place, City Kitchen was created for you. The new space, located in Times Square’s Row NYC hotel brings together nine of the city’s most symbolic eateries to a central, modern location. Japanese, Mexican, Seafood, Middle Eastern, desserts…it’s all here. The urban food market transforms Row NYC into one of the most exciting places to visit or stay in Times Square, giving diners the opportunity to eat “out of the box.”
The varied permanent and seasonal vendors offer capsule collections of their menus, providing wildly diverse eating experiences all under one roof. Keeping true to Row NYC’s overall mission of being “More NY Than NY,” the vendors represent a culinary road map of the most sought after food concepts in the city from the East Village to the Upper West Side to Brooklyn.
“Row NYC appreciates that people in this neighborhood are seeking genuine and honest food,” says Row NYC’s brand strategist Heidi Avedisian, market curator and interior designer. “And that is exactly what City Kitchen brings to the table. We searched the city for authentic and dynamic vendors across a variety of categories and tasked them to pair down their menus to the ‘best of the best.’ The result is a menu of crave-worthy options, cherry-picked for both travelers and the locals who know these purveyors so well.”
City Kitchen takes a nostalgic approach to the classic working kitchen and features industrial décor such as white subway tile, marble, reclaimed wood, gingham, and statement Italian glass chandeliers. Fixed steel and turquoise leather stools along the floor-to-ceiling windows provide customers with an unobstructed view of Times Square. The unique brand and personality of the assorted purveyors is reflected within their own space.
Times Square is the ideal location for this upscale food market. Imagine going to dinner before a theater outing with the family; your son wants a burger, wife want Japanese, eccentric daughter begs for Middle Eastern… how can you possibly please them all. Enter City Kitchen. Signature items include: The Manhattan roll from Azuki sushi; lobster rolls from Luke’s Lobster; Whitmans’ “Juicy Lucy” burger; duck shawarma from ilili Box; Gabriela’s fish tacos; and ramen bowls by Kuro Obi, Ippudo’s new concept developed exclusively for City Kitchen.
And for dessert Sigmund’s pretzels, Wooly’s shaved snow, or dulce de leche doughnuts by Dough. “City Kitchen is the essence of what’s dynamic and real about the New York food landscape,” says Avedisian. “This collaboration of eclectic restaurateurs bringing their passion together under one roof makes for what we think is an utterly of-the-moment New York dining experience.”
City Kitchen’s three entrances are located on 8th Avenue, 44th Street, and from within the Row NYC lobby. City Kitchen also provides delivery service to the hotel and greater Times Square area.
The restaurant food market is essential to Row NYC, a property launched last year after the completion of a two-year, $140 million development, by Highgate Hotels and Rockpoint Group. The centrally located hotel is an art-driven New York-centric hotel that has redefined the traditional hospitality experience, boasting 1,331 contemporary guest rooms. Curated by the best in their respected fields, Row NYC represents the pulse of New York and delivers it with style and comfort.
The interior, art-driven environment and artisanal cuisine make Row NYC the first of its kind to breathe imagination into a hotel experience in Times Square. For more information rownyc.com
