As the holidays approach and and those in New York City are contemplating where to go for exciting Thanksgiving dinner, we bring you a few creative and creative options to consider.

Berimbau Brazilian Table

Celebrate Thanksgiving with a Brazilian twist at Berimbau Brazilian Table on 36th Street, just off of 5th Avenue. Families and friends are welcome to enjoy warm hospitality and a feast of Brazilian flavors in a setting that reflects the elegance and spirit of Rio de Janeiro.
From 1 pm to 9 pm, Berimbau will serve a special Thanksgiving prix fixe menu for $95/person.

Guests begin with Pão de Queijo, Brazil’s signature house made, gluten-free cheese bread, served warm with ricotta  and brown butter herb dip, followed by a choice of one appetizerone main, and one dessert.  Highlights include Hearts of Palm with smoked heirloom tomato chimichurri; Turkey Ballotine with sweet potatoes, açai glaze, farofa, and dried fruits; and Coffee-infused flan with crispy bread.

Toast to the holiday with Berimbau’s trademark Caipirinhas, made with Leblon Cachaça and lime, or other flavored caipirinhas: mangoguava, and cashew fruit.

Leslie

If you’re looking for an alternative to the usual Thanksgiving celebration, we hope you’ll consider Leslie, an inviting  New American restaurant in Murray Hill (opened November 12). At Leslie’s helm is Miami transplant Chef/Restaurateur Sebastian Fernandez and his wife and co-owner Leslie Ames, after whom the restaurant is named.

This Thanksgiving, Sebastian infuses traditional American fare with global influences, offering a three-course $55 per person dinner special that showcases the bright, bold flavors of his wife Leslie’s native Peru:

Dinner will consist of:

  • Family-style Salad– Seasonal gem lettuce, radicchio, French breakfast radish, chives, Dijon vinaigrette
  • Peruvian-style turkey breast with aji amarillo sauce (mild), sweet potato pavé, brioche and corn stuffing, and French beans
  • Tres leches cake with seasonal fruits

Sebastian has also created a special cocktail for the occasion: a dark rum and tres leches martini.

Reservations are available via Open Table. Leslie will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. The regular menu will also be available.

INDN

For a fresh take on Thanksgiving dining, INDN, an all-Indian cocktail bar and small plates restaurant, located in NoMad, invites guests to celebrate with a menu inspired by India’s rich culinary heritage and spirit of sharing.

The food menu, crafted by a team of chefs trained in some of Northern India’s most prestigious hotels, highlights the bold flavors of the Punjab and Kashmir regions. Expect smoked and slow-grilled specialties that showcase the depth and artistry of regional Indian cuisine, such as:

  • Tandoor-Roasted Chicken Angara
  • Garlic & Cream-Marinated Lamb Chops

Blu Ember

For a traditional and elegant Thanksgiving meal, Blu Ember in Flushing, Queens will be serving a classic holiday feast. Advanced orders for their Thanksgiving options are available, and the menu is designed to serve larger groups, making it the perfect option for gatherings in the area.

The Thanksgiving menu will include time-honored cuisine including whole or breast turkey options, ham, mac and cheese, asparagus, and other quintessential holiday cuisines.

For a more intimate experience, Blu Ember features a private dining room equipped with a fireplace to provide cozy comfort among its sophisticated atmosphere.

Pulpería Latin Mediterranean Kitchen

For those in the theatre district, Pulpería Latin Mediterranean Kitchen on Restaurant Row is offering a Latin-inspired Thanksgiving, elevated with Mediterranean flair. From 4 pm to 10 pm, the restaurant will offer a 3-course  Thanksgiving Prix Fixe Menu for $75/person, also available á la carte, along with a limited dinner menu featuring Pulpería’s signature small plates and paellas.

Highlights include Mini Pumpkin Stuffed with Jumbo Lump Crabmeat, Manchego, brie, chives, scallions, fresh corn, and butternut aioli. Served with toasted French baguette; Turkey Paella for Two, bomba rice with turkey broth, ñora sofrito, chickpeas, green peas, roasted red peppers, Spanish chorizo, guindilla peppers, and cranberry aioli; and creamy Pumpkin-Spiced Cheesecake

Complete Thanksgiving at Pulpería with season cocktails like Fig Old Fashioned with fig-infused Zacapa Rum or Apple Cider Punch with caramel vodka.

House of Domes

In the mood for an Italian-style Thanksgiving? House of Domes, the new Tuscan-Italian restaurant in the South Village welcomes groups big and small to gather around the table for a holiday meal of Tuscan flavors and Thanksgiving traditions.

Featuring an intimate dining room and a private dining space that seats up to 18 guests, the restaurant will be serving a curated Thanksgiving Menu from 12:00 pm to 10:30 pm alongside it’s a la carte menu.

Highlights include Risotto with pumpkin, nduja, and stracciatella; classic roasted turkey with stuffing, sweet, mashed potato, gravy, and cranberry sauce; and a crisp Apple Tart with vanilla ice cream. For those wanting to escape New York City, consider the below options:

ATIK

For the Bronx locals and anyone looking for an escape from Manhattan this Thanksgiving, ATIK on City Island offers a creative Mediterranean menu in a space inspired by the warmth and charm of a Mediterranean villa.

With a lively dining room and a private dining space that seats 40, the restaurant will be open Thanksgiving Day with its a la carte menu. Highlights include Lamb Chops with Idaho truffle purée, sauteed spinach, and chimichurri; Whole Mediterranean Branzino with truffled cauliflower purée and a capers butter sauce; and El Limone, yuzu cream with a guava heart in the image of a lemon.

Begin or end Thanksgiving at ATIK with season cocktails like the Fig Sour, American bourbon, amaretto, lemon juice, fig essence, light foam and a caramelized fig, or consider a glass from their extensive wine list of European bottles.

Blu on the Hudson

This Thanksgiving, escape the hustle and bustle with a scenic six-minute ferry ride from Manhattan to Blu on the Hudson, nestled along the picturesque waterfront of Weehawken, New Jersey. With sweeping views of the famous New York City skyline, Blu offers the perfect setting for a memorable holiday celebration.

Executive Chef Juan Carlos “JC” Ortega will create a special $79 3-course prix fixe Thanksgiving menu, showcasing his signature New American cuisine alongside festive holiday classics. The Classic Turkey Dinner is served with apple-chestnut stuffing, cherry-cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, and classic gravy. Guests looking to indulge can elevate their experience with caviar service. For those who prefer to dine à la carte, Blu’s menu will also be available, featuring sushi rollsappetizers, and entrées such as Fresh Fish and Premium Steaks  from Blu’s top-tier steak program.
