4th of July is time to celebrate the shot-taking efforts of our founding fathers, and what better way to do so than with a tequila brand that knows a thing or two about taking shots and breaking traditions…
Hornitos Tequila has two cocktails that are perfect for the holiday – whether you want to mix up a festive red cocktail with Hornitos’ Watermelon Paloma or batch a tequila beer cocktail so you can spend more time enjoying the BBQ and less time making drinks.

Watermelon Paloma

  • 2 parts Hornitos Plata Tequila
  • 1 part fresh watermelon juice
  • 1 part seltzer
  • ¾ part agave nectar
  • ¾ part fresh lime juice
  • Handful cilantro
  • Pinch of sea salt

Preparation: Add all ingredients into a mixing glass, excluding seltzer and shake vigorously. Add seltzer and double strain into a Collins glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a watermelon wedge and rim the glass with paprika sea salt.

Hornitos Tequila Shandy (Recipe serves 8)

  • 10 parts Hornitos Plata Tequila
  • 24 parts fresh lemonade
  • 12 parts Mexican lager
  • 2 parts fresh lime juice

Preparation: Combine all ingredients in a pitcher with ice and stir.
