NYC & Company, the official destination marketing organization for the City of New York, invites the Hispanic community to enjoy the calendar of events that will take place in the five boroughs to mark the celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month

The scheduled events go from September 15 through October 15, which coincides with the anniversary of the discovery of America, and with the celebration of the declaration of independence in countries like Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Chile and Mexico

In relation to the month celebrating Hispanic-American diversity in New York City, Fred Dixon, CEO of NYC & Company, said, “NYC & Company invites visitors and locals to experience the unique roster of diverse and vibrant events taking place during Hispanic Heritage Month beginning this month.  In New York City, all are welcome and we look forward to showcasing new opportunities for Hispanic visitors to discover and experience our iconic five-borough destination”. 

Adriana Aristizábal, consultant and spokesperson for the USH Market at NYC & Company, added, “With approximately 2.3 million Hispanics, New York City demonstrates its diversity. Diversity that can be sampled when dozens of parades, carnivals and street festivals boost the spirits of locals and visitors during the Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration.”

NYC & Company curated 44 events organized by cultural institutions and community organizations that celebrate diversity, folklore, cuisine and culture. The following venues will take place across the 5 boroughs.

55th Hispanic Day Parade in New York will take place on Sunday, October 13, 2019 on Fifth Avenue, from 44th to 77th Street. A total of 21 countries and each country participates sending a delegation that shows its folklore, music and traditions in front of more than a million attendees. It is the reunion of all Hispanic nations in a parade that runs through Manhattan, passing by monuments as representative as Rockefeller Plaza, Central Park or St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
