This Halloween, Vakkaru Maldives is offering seasonal experiences for guests of all ages, from a marine-inspired adventure for younger travelers to festive cocktails and exclusive dining for adults.

Running October 25–31, Mystery of the Ancient Reef Guardians brings a fictional underwater storyline to the resort’s Parrotfish Club, where children can take part in themed activities inspired by a mysterious spell that has transformed the guardians of Vakkaru’s reef into magical creatures.

The resort will also welcome award-winning Danish chef Jesper Koch from October 26 to November 5 for three exclusive five-course tasting-menu dinners blending Nordic traditions with the flavors of the Maldives.

For Young Adventurers

At Vakkaru Maldives’ Parrotfish Club, Halloween takes the form of a seven-day quest to restore the magic of the island’s reef. Following a mysterious spell that has transformed the ancient reef guardians into fantastical creatures, young guests are invited to complete a series of challenges to help break the curse. The week’s activities include:

– Creative Creations: Kids can bring their imaginations to life with coconut and sand painting, origami bats, spooky cupcake decorating and Halloween-themed arts and crafts.

– Monster Kitchen: Budding chefs can get hands-on with monster pizza making and monster sandwiches, adding a playful culinary twist to the Halloween festivities.

– Quests & Challenges: From a missing-pumpkin hunt and obstacle treasure hunts to games and group challenges, young adventurers can put their skills to the test as they work their way through the week.

– Showtime at the Reef: The Monster Mash Fashion & Talent Show gives kids a chance to showcase their costumes and talents, bringing a spirited Halloween moment to the island.

– Island Fun: Beach picnics, games, music, dancing and movie nights round out the program, with a Halloween trick-or-treat parade on October 31 to close the celebrations.

For Teen Travelers

Older kids can enjoy a week of friendly competition and creative pursuits, with activities designed to keep them entertained beyond the Halloween festivities. Highlights include:

– Sports Tournaments: Paddle tennis, ping-pong, billiards and darts offer plenty of opportunities for a little island rivalry.

– Teenage Football Camp: A dedicated camp with an island coach gives aspiring players the chance to sharpen their skills and get moving.

– Creative Workshops: Painting, bracelet making, necklace making and other hands-on activities let teens explore their creative side.

– Games & Group Challenges: Giant Jenga relays and other games bring guests together for a dose of friendly competition.

For Adults

Following his first visit earlier this year, Chef Jesper Koch returns to Vakkaru for three exclusive five-course tasting-menu dinners on October 29, November 1 and November 3 at Vakkaru Reserve, the resort’s award-winning wine cellar.

Drawing on his Danish and Nordic culinary roots, Chef Jesper will collaborate with the resort’s culinary team to create menus that bring together Nordic traditions and the flavors of the Maldives, incorporating local ingredients, produce from Vakkaru’s Organic Farm and locally sourced seafood. Guests can look forward to a welcome cocktail reception on October 27 and dedicated wine and non-alcoholic pairing options to complement the menus.

Adults can also toast the season with the Red Eye, a Halloween-inspired cocktail served at the resort. With a bold presentation and a vivid red garnish, the drink adds a festive touch to the resort’s seasonal offerings.

Recipe:

– 0.75 oz. Orange Oleo

– 0.5 oz. Bianco Vermouth

– 1.5 oz. Pisco

– Fresh thyme, 20 strips

– Red gelatine, for garnish

For the Entire Family

Families can join the island adventure through shared activities, including family games, a quiz, treasure hunts and other opportunities to spend time together between Halloween festivities. With a week of imaginative programming for younger guests and activities for older kids, Vakkaru Maldives offers a Halloween escape that brings a little mystery and magic to the tropics.
