CONCERTS
Following on the music theme, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana has a steady rotation of the top artists  performing in-house at the hotel’s Fillmore Ballroom. During my visit I enjoyed an up close and personal concert from Enrique Iglesias.

Chief Operating Officer, Rafael Chapur said at the time, “We’re beyond excited to have Enrique perform live at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana. Along with a sensational live performance, luxurious amenities and energetic ambiance, guests truly get the opportunity to party like rockstars.”

Iglesias was followed by Rihanna later in the calendar. Coming up you have Alejandro Sanz and Juan Luis Guerra TOGETHER (March 22).  Also on the schedule is the Zac Brown Band (March 23 – 27). Stars come to Hard Rock not only to perform, but most importantly, to partake in the hedonistic lifestyle the resort offers, just like you will.

With 1,787 rooms Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana has over ten room categories, starting from a ‘Caribbean Suite,’ to a ‘Signature Family 3 Bedroom Suite,’ to a ‘Signature Presidential 2 Bedroom Suite,’ to my favorite, the ‘Rock Star Level Suite.’

The Rock Star Level Suite is located in a separate building, closest to the beach. You have a VIP Check-In with a glass of champagne as you get the keys. Here you are introduced to your own personal butler who will be at your beck and call throughout your stay. They will unpack your luggage, shine your shoes, draw your bath and make any reservations, in-house or anywhere in Punta Cana.

Once you get to your suite you discover everything is just as described: spacious, indulgent, decadent. There is the large comfortable bed with the Hydro Spa Tub at the base. Just past the tub there is your own private balcony. You have dual showers big enough for three people, plush bathrobes and slippers, and your own liquor dispenser. There is a pillow menu and you can choose the aroma to fill the room. Major attention has been put into every minor detail to ensure you are satisfied – as is worthy of every major rock star.

DINNING
Hard Rock Hotel & Resort Punta Cana has a selection of top gourmet restaurants sure to please the most demanding foodie. Keep in mind every restaurant is included as part of your reservation. The only exception is top chef’s Kerry Simon Simon’s Mansion Restaurant, which has nominal fees, well worth the cost.

You can explore exotic dining every night without spending an extra dollar, and with nine restaurants it’s difficult for the average person to visit all within a regular holiday stay. You will just have to come back – and trust me, you will want to!

Here are my personal standout dining experiences:

Zen

If you’re into Asian cuisine this will be your first stop. The teppanyaki style restaurant combines Chinese and Japanese dishes. Every meal is a performance. The chef will prepare the dish in front of your table and you will become part of the show.  At the end, the food will be delicious and you will have been entertained. Popular spot, make reservations early.

Ipanema
A refined carnivore? This is your spot. Beef, pork, sausage, lamb, poultry; all coming to your table non-stop at dizzying speeds. If you like ‘churrascaria’ you know the deal. It all happens in a beautiful setting surrounded by the lazy pool, with an incomparable ocean view. A complementing salad bar offers a wide variety of vegetables, cold cuts, cheeses and bread.

Isla
The specialty here is fresh Caribbean cuisine, with dishes prepared using spices that characterize the exotic flavors of the islands. Tuesdays there’s usually a Pirate Party and Fridays a special Dominican Night, with live music.Those days the service is buffet style while the rest of the week dinner is a la carte.

Los Gallos
For the best Mexican cuisine Los Gallos can’t be beat. They will prepare you a margarita in a flavor you never imagined, with the only guarantee that it will be delicious. Do yourself a favor and order the Tres Leches for dessert!

Simon Mansion
For the ultimate dining experience during your stay visit “Rock n’ Roll Chef” Kerry Simon’s Punta Cana outpost. From the minute you walk in everything around you is visually stimulating. Simon treats the restaurant as his personal ‘mansion.’ There are multiple ‘rooms,’ each with its own design and decor. You can dine in the ‘kitchen ,’ ‘bedroom’… or even in the ‘bathroom.’

Simon Mansion can be best described as a modern American restaurant with California and Caribbean flair. The eclectic menu boast a variety of innovative appetizers, delectable entrees, dry-aged meats, local seafood and even extensive fresh sushi.

Simon Mansion Restaurant is not part of the all-inclusive daily rate.

THE ROCK SPA
If you’re looking for one of the largest spa facilities in the Caribbean you’ve found your bliss.

The Rock Spa is immense. A 60,000 square foot oasis housing 35 spa suites, 11 indoor and outdoor couples spa suites, and 2 Golden VIP suites. Whatever treatment your body requires you’re sure to find it here. Rock Spa has the Caribbean’s most complete hydrotherapy center with lagoons, two whirlpools, color therapy steam rooms, a clay steam room, sauna, food creek pathway, hydro-reflexology, sensory expertise pool, and a cutting edge ice room.

NIGHTLIFE
A night at Hard Rock Punta Cana’s ORO Nightclub rivals your best party night in Miami or Las Vegas. ORO is a visual orgy. A multi-sensory experience sure to shock you to the core, annihilate your inhibitions and slam you into climax.

ORO Nightclub is the gem of the Caribbean. Revelers come from miles away to experience the best nightlife in Punta Cana, and yes, it’s in your hotel. Which means that after all the bottles are gone, the confetti has fallen to the ground, the little person has finished shooting his foam gun, the pop lock electric dancers have turned off their lights, and the go go dancers have gotten off the stage; all you’ll need to do is walk to your room.  The action at ORO never seizes. Something different is always happening. All of your senses will be heightened and you explode in the sort of ecstasy few other dance clubs provide.
