HOMBRE: What was your inspiration for this collection?
Carlos Campos: This collection is inspired by this man who goes from the city into the mountains and coffee fields. I spent a lot of time in Honduras in the coffee fields, that’s where I got all my palette colors in the collection. You’re going to see camel, brown, and blue, which is a color I use in every collection. I think it turned out pretty good.
H: What kind of look are you trying to create?
CC: I tried to stay faithful to who I am, what I do, a little bit of tailoring, a little bit of sport. That’s what we do with the brand. But there’s new pieces like the cape that you’re going to see in the collection. It’s a sport tailoring sort of look.
H: You mentioned being inspired by Honduras
CC: That played a big part of the inspiration. I spent a lot of time there in the last six months and obviously traveling throughout the country.
H: What made you want to be a designer?
CC: I always wanted to. It’s my background. My father was a tailor. I wanted to continue what my family was doing, that’s the thing that made me want to become a designer.
