Regardless of how you and your family elected to celebrate the holidays and the start of 2023, we’re sure it involved some entertaining at home. Actor, producer, and radio and television host Mario Lopez has partnered with the brand to share how the new product lineup enhances the quality of life.

In an exclusive interview Lopez shares how he and his family celebrate special moments with the help of Whirlpool brand appliances whose innovative smart features allow them to conveniently multitask through their to-do list and enjoy more time together.

Lopez is quite busy these days with multiple ongoing projects, in addition to recently hosting ‘Too Hot to Handle” season four on Netflix and Lifetime re-airing his film, “Steppin’ into the Holiday.”

HOMBRE:  What can you tell us about your involvement with the Whirlpool brand?
Mario Lopez: I’m excited to be partnering with Whirlpool because there’s no better time to work with them than during the holidays. These appliances that we use are quick, efficient, and smart. We love to entertain and there’s a lot of messes that come with entertaining so we’re out there spreading the word.

H: How do they simplify home life?
ML: Technology has come a long way with these appliances. They’re doing the thinking for you. It makes it easy, it makes it quick and efficient. Whether it’s the French door refrigerator that has a lot more space, you can see what you’re doing and it’s organized on a whole other level. Or the extra third track in the dishwasher, or the oven that has an Air Fry mode which is quick and easy and a lot of fun. People are really digging it.

H: Does having these appliances motivate you to spend more time in the kitchen?
ML: I love being in the kitchen. I love to eat more than I like to cook, but I like to do that too.  And everyone is always congregating in the kitchen.

H: What were some of the holiday traditions you most looked forward during Christmas and the start of the new year?
ML: Just having family over. My sister coming with her four kids, and my mom and dad. Just relaxing, not having to work. There’s a lot of dining and eating. We go to the movies, maybe some theme parks.

H: Speaking about work, you have so much going on. What are some of the projects you’re most excited about?
ML: I feel blessed to be busy every single day. I’m still doing my national syndicated radio show, “ON with Mario Lopez,” and there’s the show “Access Daily” during the day, and “Access Hollywood” at night. Then I did another Christmas film, “Steppin’ into the Holiday” for Lifetime, which went really well.  I plan to do more of that this year, along with other projects.

H: And you also have the Menudo project, tell us about that.
ML: It’s an iconic brand. We found these five great kids that we are going to introduce to the world in the spring, so by the summer they will be out and popping.

H: So you have found the new members?
ML: Correct, we did a long search. We went to Puerto Rico, Mexico City, Miami, all over the country and it was fun. We have great kids.

H: Did it make you miss not having been part of the group?
ML: It’s funny because a lot of people used to think I was in it when I was little. But I like just being a producer and being involved.

H: You’ve had such a long successful career, to what do you attribute the longevity?
ML: I’m happy to just be in the game. I try to be disciplined and put my head down, work hard, stay focused, do the right thing and fortunately the right things have happened for me. I don’t try to limit myself. Whether it’s radio, or hosting or acting, or dancing, whatever it is I try to keep my options open and get involved in as many things as I can.

H: What advice can you offer those who admire you and are interested in entering the entertainment industry?
ML: Thank you first of all. Now it’s an exciting time if you’re a young person because you can sort of create your own platform with YouTube and all these social media. You can create your own content and build your own path. They didn’t have that when I was a kid. You have no excuse now if there’s something you’re passionate about and you want to do. Be disciplined, work hard, and take matters into your own hands.

H: Is there a  message for the start of the new year?
ML: Hopefully people will hug their friends and family and keep them close. We had a rough week with unfortunate drama in the entertainment world and it kind of reminds you to keep those important to you close and don’t take them for granted. Maybe that will help people be a bit more positive and patient with others.

H: And finally, it’s a new year, why should people look into Whirlpool appliances?
ML: Again it’s a great product, it’s efficient, it’s quick, they got a lot of great stuff for the holidays and I think it makes your life quite easy.
