Hornitos’ Fútbol Tournament Cocktails to Cheer on the Home Team

Coming off an impressive round one advancement, team Mexico is continuing to take their shot at becoming world champions for the first time. Concacaf‘s sole remaining contestant (representing the Caribbean and North and Central America) takes the field against Brazil on Monday. But why wait til then, start the celebrations now with the Hornitos cocktails below.

Hornitos Tequila has two bold cocktails that prove to be far from a howler. The Hornitos Spicy Verde and Yellow Card cocktails are the perfect balance of exciting and intense, just like any soccer match.

Yellow Card (above)

  • 2 parts Hornitos Reposado Tequila
  • ¾ part fresh lime juice
  • ¾ part pineapple juice
  • ¼ part agave
  • Pinch of cilantro leaves

Preparation: Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a coupe glass.

Spicy Verde

        • 2 parts Hornitos Reposado Tequila
        • ½ part fresh lime juice
        • 3 parts pineapple juice
        • 2 dashes green habanero hot sauce (optional)

Preparation: Combine ingredients in a mixing glass. Shake vigorously and pour into a martini or highball glass. Garnish with a lime slice.
