Latino Artists Fight HIV And AIDS At Cielo Gala In New York

For the past 23 years, Latino Commision on AIDS has gathered artists, musicians, fashion designers and key leaders in healthcare to raise funds for programs and services to reduce the stigma and improve the future of patients living with HIV and AIDS. This year, the Cielo Gala is scheduled for Friday June 1st at Cipriani Wall Street.
Actor J.W Cortez will induct Miss Universe 2018 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters and Amara La Negra as the newest Madrinas of the Latino Commission on AIDS to promote HIV and AIDS awareness, prevention, and treatment among Latino communities throughout the country and internationally.
It will also induct Actress Jenna Ortega as its Youth Ambassador, and highlight the work of the Latinos in the Deep South program, with a focus on raising awareness and rallying support for the displaced people of Puerto Rico who have relocated to the South after Hurricane Maria.
Tenor and NBC “America’s Got Talent” star Carlos Aponte, and the Brooklyn based band Los Hacheros will perform, and Puerto Rico fashion designer Stella Nolasco will present special fashion show from her collection. Nolasco is Puerto Rico’s most celebrated designer, worn by celebrities and fashion elites at high profile events worldwide. Beyonce Knowles, Eva Longoria, Laverne Cox, IssaRae, Juliette Lewis, and America Ferrara are just some of the celebrities that have boasted her designs.
The evening will consist of a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by dinner and the awards presentation.
