After being awarded with seven Billboard Latin Music Awards this past month, Luis Fonsi won tops honors once again last night at the Billboard Awards. The international star received five awards in the categories: “Top Hot 100 Song,” “Top Latin Song,” “Top Streaming Song (video),” “Top Selling Song” and “Top Collaboration” for his global phenomenon “Despacito.”

Fonsi, who attended the awards ceremony that took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and aired on the American network NBC, said: “Thank you guys so much for embracing a mostly Spanish song, for wanting to dance it, sing it and learned it. This goes out to all my Latino brothers, all the immigrants. All the DREAMers out there, all of those who get made fun of when you speak with an accent, all of those when they say, ‘Hey speak English.’ To you – Puerto Rico, this goes out to you.”

Another incredible milestone for the international artist who continues to dominate the sales and radio charts, not only with his massive hit “Despacito” but also his most recent single “Échame La Culpa” ft. Demi Lovato. Both singles remain at the top positions, certifying gold, platinum and diamond albums in multiple countries.

“Échame La Culpa” has been on Billboard’s “Hot Latin Song” chart for 24 weeks; it has been recently nominated for an MTV MIAW in the category “Hit of the Year,” while the official video of the song has registered more than 1.2 billion views on YouTube.

In addition to his stellar musical career, Fonsi has just been announced as one of the coach of “La Voz,” the Spanish version of NBC’s popular singing competition “The Voice,” reaching Hispanic television for the first time in the United States in 2019 on Telemundo.

Fonsi continues his successful “Love & Dance World Tour” this Thursday, May 24th in Panama, while the dates in June include concerts in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Ecuador, and more. Dates below:
