October 15, 2014 will see the unveiling of Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France, a new Maison for the Cheval Blanc collection. Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France, an enduring island favorite, was acquired by LVMH in July 2013 and has since been managed by LVMH Hotel Management. Capitalizing on the property’s tremendous assets, it has since been undergoing a series of enhancements that will culminate this summer before it re-opens for the new season in October. Further developments will continue throughout 2015.
This will be the third Maison in the portfolio, joining Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives, which opened in November 2013 to great acclaim, and Cheval Blanc Courchevel, the 36-room ski-in ski-out Maison in Courchevel 1850.
A Cheval Blanc Spa offering the only Guerlain treatments in the Caribbean
The four treatment room Cheval Blanc Spa will be a sanctuary at the heart of this laid-back island Maison. In the same vein as its sister properties, it will offer signature treatments by Guerlain – the first of their kind in the Caribbean – created exclusively for Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France. Signature therapies will include St-Barth Solar Escape, a ritual subtly combining the Terracotta range with Guerlain specialists’ know-how, to offer a soothing escape to the skin and enhance its healthy glow. A new Orchidée double treatment room and other novelties will follow in the 2015-2016 season.
Cheval Blanc will also introduce a brand new fitness center, offering personal training sessions and the latest Technogym equipment, overlooking Flamands Bay. The open plan layout will feature a bright and spacious design, in a palette of whites and taupes with bespoke furniture dotted throughout.
New Services and Amenities
The team’s legendary commitment to service and attention to detail, akin to Cheval Blanc’s Art de Recevoir service philosophy, will be completed by the creation of new tailor-made experiences and activities crafted by the Maison’s Alchemists.
Among these experiences is Big Blue Escape, a wonderful journey across the Caribbean Sea. Escorted by a Majordome, Cheval Blanc’s dedicated butler, guests will set sail aboard a 69′ yacht whose experienced Captain will unveil St Barts’ most gorgeous bays. After exploring the Caribbean’s underwater marvels, they will drop anchor in front of the pristine Saline Beach, where a romantic fresh lobster lunch will be awaiting them in an idyllic environment. The rest of the afternoon will be spent resting and sunbathing at will, before indulging in an exclusive Guerlain spa ritual onboard.
New touches include Tropical Chic, a new signature fragrance for the Maison, composed by Thierry Wasser, the nose at Guerlain, new Cheval Blanc amenities, and a wonderful new look for the Ambassadeurs, inspired by the fabled glamour of St Barts in the 1950’s and 60’s, creating an elegant, laid-back style that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Guests will also be pleasantly surprised by the Maison’s partnership with French hair pioneer Leonor Greyl – highly sought after on red carpets and runways worldwide – to develop a nourishing product line for Cheval Blanc that protects hair from its exposure to sun and sea. The chosen amenities contain specially selected organic plant-based active ingredients known for their moisturizing properties – a perfect remedy for the St Barts sunshine.
The Maison’s new color palette combines Cheval Blanc’s signature taupe with a daring blush pink – created just for Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France – that strikingly enhances the Maison’s trademark blue. This new color scheme pays tribute to the Caribbean turquoise waters and colorful local façades.
