Latin music duo sensations Mau Y Ricky are featured on a new remix of GRAMMY Award-winning, multi-platinum artist John Legend‘s hit song “Bigger Love.” The brothers, singers, and songwriters add Spanish-language verses to Legend’s song to help extend the global reach of his empowering message.
“I always envisioned ‘Bigger Love’ as an international song, bringing musical styles and cultures together to celebrate love and our human connection. I’m so happy I could collaborate with Mau y Ricky to create this Latin remix. I hope all of our fans around the world will enjoy dancing to it,” says Legend.
“Having the opportunity to work with John Legend are several achievements in one … we have always admired him. The fact that he invited us on the remix of his song Bigger Love confirms that what we have planted during these years of our career is bearing fruit. Being able to represent Venezuela in a song with such a renowned artist is our greatest pride,” says Mau y Ricky.
“Bigger Love” is the title track from Legend’s critically-acclaimed BIGGER LOVE album that was released last month. The English version of the song was written by Legend with Ryan Tedder, Zach Skelton and Cautious Clay, and the Spanish version was written by Mau y Ricky and Juan Moreli. The lyric video captures the colorful spirit of the song. After penning hits for other Latin music artists, the duo made their debut last year with the album Para Aventuras y Curiosidades, which has been streamed over 4 billion times on Spotify and certified double Platinum in the U.S. The album includes their multi-Platinum hits “La Boca,” “Desconocidos,” and “Mi Mala.”
The Latin Grammy nominees Mau y Ricky continue to be go-to collaborators in the Latin music. They wrote Becky G and Natti Natasha‘s Diamond-certified hit “Sin Pijama” and Ricky Martin and Maluma‘s global smash “Vente Pa’ Ca”. The latter was nominated for Song of the Year at the Latin Grammy Awards. After great successes with all-star collaborations like “Botafuego” with one of the biggest Latin artists Nicky Jam, “Recuerdo” with Argentine pop star Tini or “Ya Tú Me Conoces” with Mexican pop star Thalia, which became a hit in Mexico and Central America, Mau y Ricky were invited by Legend to the “Bigger Love Remix” for an Anglo music audience worldwide.
Mau y Ricky are previewing their highly-anticipated second studio album with new music. The duo’s recent single “Me Enamora” topped Mexico and Colombia’s Monitor Latino charts for Pop Radio Spins and Pop Radio Audience for multiple weeks this year.
Legend’s new album BIGGER LOVE via Columbia Records is available now everywhere. As Legend sees it, the world could use a reminder of the power of love and his seventh studio album, Bigger Love, is just that. The 16-track album is classic John Legend: Soulful, joyful, loving, hopeful and tender. Rolling Stone declares the title track “Bigger Love,” “a dance floor-ready pop song…that exudes jubilance even in these tough times.”
