Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky joined Michael Strahan in his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction celebration. To honor not only his achievement into this illustrious group, but also his unwavering determination to constantly evolve, Johnnie Walker celebrated the athlete and talk-show host alongside his family and close friends at his post-enshrinement party in Canton, Ohio.
On their way into the party, guests including Kelly Ripa, Robin Roberts, Kenneth Cole and Emmit Smith took a moment to salute Strahan with congratulatory sentiments and wishes of continued success on the Johnnie Walker Keep Walking wall.
As guests stepped into the tent they were transported to New York City, the theme of the night in honor of Strahan’s favorite city where he has accomplished his greatest dreams. DJ Skribble took to the tables to get the party started while New York City’s top bartenders served up classic cocktails that originated in The Big Apple – a Rob Roy and a New York Sour featuring Johnnie Walker Black Label. Stars such as Usher enjoyed tastings from a luxury Scotch whisky bar hosted by Master of Whisky Stephen Wilson featuring the complete Johnnie Walker portfolio. Perfect spheres of ice were personally hand-carved on site for party goers enjoying Scotch whisky “on the rock.”
To commemorate this epic milestone, Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, who inducted best pal Strahan into the Hall of Fame, took the stage to present Michael with a one-of-a-kind engraved bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label featuring an iconic image of the Strahan wearing his Giants jersey. Michael then asked the crowd to raise a glass of Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve – the celebration blend – saying “I want to thank everyone, I have so many friends in here. This is a celebration, we are going to have fun. I want to toast you all for coming out to Canton to celebrate with me. I’m want to raise a glass of Johnnie Walker to everybody in the room. Here’s to 2014 Hall of Fame class. Let’s have a great party!”
Then, to continue the theme of the night, Strahan welcomed his good friend, Jon Bon Jovi to the stage to perform a special one hour set. Fans, including Usher, were spotted dancing along to favorites like “Who Says You Can’t Go Home.” Following the remarkable performance for the intimate crowd, LL Cool J took to the stage to close out the night. Strahan, taking in the last few moments of his party, was spotted dancing on stage alongside LL.
