PARAISO Miami Beach Returns This July With Fresh Roster of In-Person Swim Experiences

PARAISO Miami Beach, the official industry platform of swim week, will return to in-person events, July 8-11, 2021 at its renowned tent at Collins Park on Miami Beach and the Ritz Carlton South Beach, with satellite events throughout Miami Beach, including Plymouth Miami Beach, MILA, and Mondrian South Beach. The Resort 2022 season will gather mass appeal with new initiatives that reveal how fashion, music, and technology mix.
“Since its inception, the main focus of PARAISO Miami Beach has been the growth of the swimwear, beachwear, and resort wear industry. Bringing the in-person platform back to life is critical to rebuilding the fashion economy after a tiring 16-month run through the pandemic,” said Natalija Dedic Stojanovic, co-founder of PARAISO, “and this season we’re here to support designers who have struggled the past year to reestablish the business and give them a stage to flourish once again.”
This season PARAISO welcomes new names such as Jonathan Simkhai, Honey Birdette, FASHION NOVA, Bfyne, Caravana Land, Leimakani, BOOHOO, and PQ Swim, to name just a few. Honey Birdette will be debuting its first-ever swim collection as will Artist and Influencer, Stefi Roitman in collaboration with singer, Mery Racauchi. Glamorous, luxurious, and unapologetically authentic, Honey Birdette is pushing the boundaries on and off the runway with statement-making lingerie and swim.
Returning to PARAISO, are swimwear veterans, Luli Fama, Mikoh, Mola Mola, Ancora, Oh Polly, and Liliana Montoya, who will present their upcoming collections.
Procolombia, the Colombian government agency and PARAISO will kick off the week of events, hosting the second annual DESTINATION Colombia runway show at the PARAISO Tent at Collins Park presenting ten Colombian swimwear and resort wear brands to watch. PQ Swim, Bahama Mama, Naranja Furcado, Smeralda and others will present their Resort 2022 collections to an industry audience of press and buyers, followed by the trade showroom on Friday, July 9th at Ritz Carlton South Beach where attendees will be able to connect with designers one on one. DESTINATION Colombia celebrates thriving fashion, cultural community, and supports the expansion of Colombian brands in the US market.
Miami Beach’s newest hotel, Celino South Beach will host an event in collaboration with SELECT Model Management. Bridget Halanski, Chief Marketing Officer of SELECT will kick off swim week events with their models, naturally, at the brand new, retro-style property. Notable guests will include Sofia Resing, Daniela De Jesus, Kourtney Kellar, and Fiona Baron, with a special guest performance by Select’s own DJ and singer-songwriter Selena Sofia.
Global beauty brand Kevin Murphy continues its collaboration with PARAISO as the Official Hair Partner of PARAISO Miami Beach. Kevin Murphy’s state-of-the-art products will provide creative inspiration and artistic vision for more than ten PARAISO designers including.
Pandemic transformed the way people think about their safety and health. And although in the post-Covid-19 waters, PARAISO will continue to practice responsibility by partnering up with H_llo Friend, to develop an exclusive face mask for PARAISO attendees and staff.
After two successful capsule collection collaborations with Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, leading online retailer Fashion Nova will bring the heat to swim week with what’s promised to be “the event of swim week” on Friday, July 9th featuring a star-studded runway and live music performance at the Mondrian South Beach.
The newly renovated, Ritz Carlton South Beach will be the host of several curated swim week experiences as well the official media hub for those traveling to Miami Beach to cover the runway shows, attend collection previews, and network with industry guests.
The most exciting part of every swim week season is connecting the industry in one place IRL. The mega-retailer Boohoo will celebrate summer lifestyle and an inclusive take on fashion at the gorgeous, newly opened art-deco-style property.
PARAISO Miami Beach partnered up with COW-ORK to bring a fiber-fast Wi-Fi to all designers, buyers, models, and media at selected PARAISO locations. Guests will sign up through COW-ORK website to download the COW-ORK app and access all their benefits free of charge for a full week of July 5.
Each year PARAISO Miami Beach supports non-profit organizations and their focused efforts to address various issues. Amid the global pandemic and recent acts of racial injustice, the organization Models of Color Matters started the conversation and an initiative to increase diversity and equity in fashion and media. “Due to systematic racism and built in bias models of colors (BIPOC) tend to be overlooked for castings, modeling opportunities, and mistreated on sets and backstage in the modeling industry. We want to be a confidence booster, a safe place, a wealth of knowledge and a connector for fashionistas of color,” explains founder Nicole Doswell. This July, Models of Color Matters will support reputable swimwear brand Bfyne, by Nigerian-American designer Buki Ade. The creative agency Fika and Miami Design District will partner up to present Segunda Mano, the first annual runway show benefiting Lotus House Women’s Shelter.The influencer and artist Journey of a Braid will curate the show using only donated pieces from their very own thrift store to bring awareness around their mission of improving the lives of women, youth and children experiencing homelessness.
