Palma de Mallorca has a brand new five star property to excite the senses with the recent opening of Hotel Sant Francesc. An illustrious team of architects, interior and landscape designers have revamped a manor house dating from 1880 to create a luxury hotel with 42 rooms and signature suites along with Quadrat Restaurant & Garden. The classic restaurant is overseen by Chef Simon Andreas Petutschnig.
Quadrat is situated in the former stables of the house and includes lush garden seating offering a total of 70 seats. The Lobby Bar and Patio Mallorquin serves tapas throughout the day.
During fine weather, the Singular Rooftop Terrace will be a very special place in Palma serving light bites, specialty cocktails, wines and cava. Whether taking a dip in the pool or watching the sunset over the sea, the rooftop lounge will delight guests.
Chef Petutschnig brings over 17 years of experience to his new position having worked side-by-side with numerous Michelin starred chefs in Spain and Switzerland. He now takes that experience to Hotel Sant Francesc. Born in Austria, Simon was most inspired to cook at his grandmother’s knee. He credits her for teaching him the love of kitchen arts and especially how to make pasta.
“Cooking together with my grandmother meant sharing great meals, love and laughter with our family. The Quadrat team hopes to bring this feeling of sharing the love we have for cooking to our guests,” say Chef Petutschnig.
This is Chef Petutschnig first venture in Mallorca and he has uncovered the island’s hidden gems as the market showcases the freshest local ingredients. “I am very excited about the menus that we can create. Mallorca has very special products: the sea is at our feet, so we have the freshest fish and we found a great source for suckling pigs. There are a variety of cheeses made here as well, and, of course, all of this can be washed down with delicious wines and cava,” says Petutschnig.
For a panoramic view of the city, unlike any other in Palma, the Singular Rooftop Terrace offers a bird’s-eye view of the city and overlooks the Church of Sant Francesc, as well as the Cathedral and other architectural treasures within the city. During the daytime, the sundeck features a pool with a view and loungers to take sun while a transformation takes place converting the rooftop into a starlit patio as the sun sets.
Quadrat is open for Breakfast: 07:00-11:00; Lunch 13:00-15:30; Dinner 19:30-23:00.
