In a time when we’re all looking for ways to help others from our own homes, Schick Xtreme is changing the way we mobilize fighting childhood cancers by partnering with St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the head-shaving charity, to reimagine their IRL fundraising events. Now donating to a good cause as easy as playing a mobile game.

Introducing “Shave The Day,” an addictive head-shaving mobile game launching today, that helps raise money to fight childhood cancers.

How Shave The Day Works:

  1. In Shave The Day, you play as XtremeMan, fearless bald superhero. Your mission – ride your Xtreme razor to shave heads and collect Bald Bucks.
  2. At the end of gameplay, Schick Xtreme will turn your Bald Bucks into a real donation to St. Baldrick’s Foundation to help fund childhood cancer research [up to $250,000].
  3. Once Schick Xtreme’s donation goal is reached, players will be encouraged to continue playing and donating themselves directly within the game.

Xtreme will also be teaming up with Twitch streamers (Aydan + NMPLOL) to not only set personal donation goals and play Shave The Day, but to also shave their heads on livestream once donation goals are met!

  • With more people staying indoors due to quarantines, lockdowns, and voluntary isolation, livestreamed programming has grown in popularity. Globally, the weekend of March 14 saw a big increase in streaming audiences over the previous weekend, with Twitch’s viewership going up 10% and YouTube Gaming’s by 15%.
  • Twitch has grown in hours watched 29% year-over-year based on March 2020 vs March 2019.
  • In March 2020, over 1.2 billion hours were watched setting a new milestone. This also marked a 24% growth since Feb 2020. Twitch had not crossed the 1 billion mark until 2020.

Everyone will be able to download Shave The Day FOR FREE from the App Store, Google Play Store or ShaveTheDay.com starting on Tuesday, May 19.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation is committed to supporting research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. The foundation proudly hosts shave events across the country where thousands of participants shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer. During these uncertain times, participation in Shave The Day and virtual donations will help the foundation continue funding critical research.
