Stay Cozy With These Fall Cocktails From Top Mixologist

As the leaves begin to change and pumpkin and apple scents fill the air, it’s time to put on your softest sweater and warm up with a cozy cocktail. NYC Mixologist Ben Rojo of Black Emperor has created two fall cocktails made with seasonal flavors such as spiced maple, apple and cocoa powder that are sure to get you into the autumn mindset.

Apples to Apples (above)

Don Papa, apple, spiced maple, lemon, egg white

1 1/12 Don Papa

1 oz apple juice

1/2 oz spiced maple syrup

1/2 oz lemon juice

1/2 oz egg white

Combine all ingredients with ice and shake vigorously.
Finely strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with pink peppercorn and rosemary sprig.

(For syrup, combine 2 cups maple syrup, 1 cup apple juice, 1 stick cinnamon, 1 tbsp cracked green cardamom pods, and 1 tsp pink peppercorn in a saucepan.  Bring to a simmer while stirring before removing from heat.  Allow to cool and strain.)

Black on Black
Don Papa 10yo, cold brew liquor, muscovado, stout

1 1/2 oz Don Papa 10yo

1/4 oz cold brew liquor

1/4 oz muscovado syrup (2:1 muscovado : coconut water)

Combine all ingredients with ice and shake vigorously.
Strain into a tall glass over ice and fill with stout beer.
Garnish with a fine dusting of bitter cocoa powder.
