The Nation’s Best Coffee Shops

Food and drink website, The Daily Meal, has just released its coveted list of America’s 50 Best Coffee Shops. This is the second annual report of its kind. Drink editor, Jessica Novak, enlisted the help of some of the nation’s most elite coffee aficionados – including the reigning World Barista Champion, Pete Licata, the Northeast Barista Champion, Park Brannen, and Sarah Allen, editor & co-founder of Barista Magazine.
New York’s Everyman Espresso was voted number 1. Below you will find the top ten selections. For the complete list visit www.thedailymeal.com
Methodology
To determine the best coffee shops, The Daily Meal combed through thousands of listings of coffee shops and gauged the domestic coffee culture. Editors also calculated the national “craft” coffee chains to be ranked among the list of independently owned coffee shops (in order to be considered “national,” the chain must have shops in more than one state). Experts then weighed in on where they believed the best coffee shops were: coffee bloggers, coffee roasters, shop owners and baristas. Panelists submitted their votes based on the quality of coffee, barista skills, overall experience/atmosphere, availability and quality of food.
