The latest episode of the Tough Doesn’t Quit series from Polaris Off Road features the inspiring Fernanda Montiel –the first Latina to ever win a Baja Championship and a rising icon in off-road racing.
At the early age of 25, Montiel is making history, carving out her place in a sport long dominated by men, fueled by heart, horsepower, and relentless determination. Her journey began in her father’s garage at the age of three, where a deep love for racing first took root.
From the start, Montiel and her family hustled to keep her dream alive – knocking on doors for sponsorships, building her career from the ground up. Today, she races alongside her brother who serves as co-pilot, dedicating every spare moment to sharpening her skills and chasing podiums.
As a first-generation Polaris Racing Mexico rider, she’ll stop at nothing to continue to build her legacy and claim her place on top of the podium. Through every twist, turn, and triumph, she has proven that strength doesn’t have to look a certain way and that femininity and ferocity can ride side by side. She continues to prove that legacy isn’t inherited—it’s built.
As we recently celebrated International Female Riders Day, honoring the resilience and fire that drives women like Montiel to challenge limits and lead the way forward. Here’s a direct link to the full episode on YouTube
