Traditions that last centuries and spread across  continents are rare. Such is the case with pheasant hunting, a popular royal pastime that originated in Britain in the 1600s and made its way to North America in 1881. Now, thanks to The Preserve Sporting Club and Resort you can participate in monthly Upland Hunts, an exhilarating event elevated for the modern hombre. The property’s sustainable hunting methods ensure conservation protection and continued efforts to help the environment flourish.

Preserve membership has its perks and this is one their best and most popular ones. Here’s an unmatched opportunity to put your sensory prowess to the test against nature, and the elements. It’s a unique adventure, rare to find at this level of luxury anywhere in the USA, much less only a few hours from Midtown Manhattan.

As a Preserve Member shared, the Upland Hunt experience begins even before arriving at the property. There’s the decision making process of  what to wear, the constant checking on the forecast, the anticipation of what day will bring.

Imagine dressing in your Saville Row finest hunting gear, accompanied by family or your best buddies, and exploring part of 3,500 acres, with sweeping spectacular views.

To start the day you are paired with a fellow hunter and drive to the course. Once there beaters and their dogs join to make sure each bird is properly retrieved. There are eight stations, and as you reach the first one adrenaline takes over.

The sound of the hammer impact on the shotgun, the smell of gunpowder, the quickness of your fingers pulling the trigger, the sight of hundreds of birds soaring across the sky; it’s a demanding endeavor that excites the senses, tests your skills, and can match your James Bond cinematic daydreams.

And with at least 500 birds released throughout the hunt success is guaranteed. After it’s over you’ll survey your prized game, head to lunch, and enjoy the fruits of your labor with a feast fit for a king.

The Upland Hunts are among the premium perks of The Preserve Sporting Club and Resort membership.
This is a destination that truly lives up to its name.

For the Sporting Club portion you’ll find the only Bentley Off-Roading Course in the nation, golf, fishing, target or clay shooting, the aforementioned Upland Hunts, swimming, horseback riding, and tennis.

Spa Wellness Retreat has an extensive menu of services including facials, massages, body treatments, and complete hair and nail care; all within a refuge of serenity with whirlpool, sauna, cold plunge, steam shower, and an infinity pool that overlooks perfectly manicured grounds.
