As part of the national and international expansion strategy for the benefit of its clients, Volaris launches 30 new routes that will enhance connectivity to some of the most important destinations in Mexico, the United States and Central America, helping to drive economic, tourist and social activity in these regions.

Volaris will now offer a total of 230 routes across 73 airports (44 in México and 29 internationally), cementing its position as one of the leading Mexican airlines in terms of passengers transported across all its markets.

The airline will significantly increase its operations in the city of Morelia, Michoacán, increasing its connectivity with a total of 8 new routes: 3 domestic routes to Mexicali, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo and Puerto Vallarta, and 5 international routes to the US cities of Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio in Texas, as well as to Ontario and Sacramento in California. This brings Volaris’ total routes in Morelia to 17, where it began operations in 2007 and has since transported over 7.7 million Customers as Morelia’s largest airline.

San Luis Potosí will also benefit from increased connectivity, adding 3 new routes to Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio, Texas. Volaris began operations in San Luis Potosí in 2013 and currently offers 2 routes (Tijuana and Cancún) and has transported over 1.1 million passengers. Volaris will have the largest, most diverse network from San Luis Potosí in terms of routes served and seat miles.

In Monterrey, Volaris will begin operations on new national routes starting in March to the domestic destinations of Bajío, Tuxtla Gutiérrez and Puerto Vallarta, in addition to the recently announced route to Toluca. To the United States, it will start to operate new routes to the cities of Denver, Miami, Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth between March and April, effectively connecting Volaris’ core cities across Mexico and the United States to the important city of Monterrey as it becomes the second largest carrier.

Volaris will improve connectivity for Costa Rican Customers with the launch of 3 new routes from San José, Costa Rica, to Tulum, Quintana Roo, as well as Miami and Orlando, Florida. These routes complement Volaris’ existing flights from the Costa Rican capital to Guadalajara, Cancún, Mexico City, as well as El Salvador, and Guatemala, in Central America, bringing the total to 8 routes. Since beginning operations in San José in 2015, Volaris has transported over 2.4 million Customers, positioning itself as a key competitor.

Additionally, Volaris is announcing its arrival at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in New Jersey, with the transfer of its operations from John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) in New York, starting July 1st, 2025. It will operate routes to Guadalajara and the Central American destination of San Salvador from this convenient airport serving the New York City Metropolitan area. This move aims to enhance service for customers in the New York City Metropolitan area, particularly the Central American and Mexican communities West of the Hudson where no low-cost service exists to Mexico and Central America.

Finally, Volaris will open 7 additional routes in the United States: 2 routes from Los Angeles, California, to the Mexican cities of Querétaro and Tepic (the latter subject to US government approval), 3 routes from Ontario, California, to the destinations of Bajío, Los Cabos, and Morelia, and 2 more routes from Oakland, California, to Zacatecas and Los Cabos.

“This increase in Volaris’ domestic and international routes reaffirms our commitment to offering Customers in and outside of México the best opportunities to travel more affordably, comfortably, and safely to more destinations—whether to be closer to loved ones, for business, or simply to enjoy great leisure moments on vacation,” said Holger Blankenstein, Executive Vice President of Volaris.

The new routes are now on sale and will begin operations progressively from March 20th, 2025.

Customers interested in flying on these new routes can take advantage of a 70% discount on ticket purchases, available from February 13th to 16th (https://www.volaris.com/es-mx/nuevas-rutas) for travel on the following routes:

This continuous expansion and leadership position will make Volaris a key driver of economic, tourist and social activity in México and the other countries where it has a presence, by promoting the development and progress of the communities where it operates.
