Volkswagen of America and alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet recently partnered to celebrate Pride month by hosting an inclusive prom-themed event at the Parrish Art Museum. As part of the soiree, the Volkswagen ID.4, the brand’s first all-electric SUV and first global EV, was on display wrapped in a custom alice + olivia print. The brands created major moments of visibility with VIP guests by transporting them to and from the event, allowing them to enjoy a first-hand experience of the new vehicle and electric mobility.
“We were excited to celebrate Pride with our first ever alice + olivia Prom benefitting the Ali Forney Center. Through our collaboration with Volkswagen, we were able to strengthen support for the LGBTQIA+ community,” says Bendet, Chief Executive Officer and Creative Director, alice + olivia. “It was a special evening and it was wonderful to see everyone dressed up. I was also delighted to partner again with Volkswagen and experience their new ID.4 electric vehicle.”
Notables who attended the festivities include Stacey Bendet (CEO & Creative Director, alice + olivia) Drew Barrymore (Actress, TV Show Host), Lea Michele (Actress), Tayshia Adams (TV Personality, The Bachelorette), AnnaLynne McCord (Actress), Eboni K. Williams (TV Personality, Real Housewives of New York), Vito Schnabel (Art Dealer, Vito Schnabel Gallery), Stella Schnabel (Actress), Huma Abedin, Andrew Rosen, Caroline Vazzana (Author, Stylist), Ty Sunderland (DJ), Claudine DeNiro (Producer), Huma Abedin (Political Figure), Pritika Swarup (Model) and more.
The event was held to benefit The Ali Forney Center of New York City, the nation’s largest agency dedicated to LGBTQIA+ homeless youth. Through their partnership Volkswagen and alice + olivia made charitable donations to the organization, supporting its work in the LGBTQIA+ community.
“Being the people’s car brand, it’s important we contribute to environments where all people feel respected and appreciated,” said Quincy Stephens, Senior Director, Diversity and Talent Acquisitions, Volkswagen Group of America. “The alice + olivia brand shares our commitment to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and supporting the work of organizations like The Ali Forney Center. We are honored to partner with them both on such a fun and uplifting event.”
Recently named 2021 World Car of the Year award, the ID.4 ushers in a new era of e-mobility for Volkswagen. The company plans to bring at least one new all-electric model to market globally every year.
