Located inside The Standard Spa, Miami Beach, Monterrey Bar, celebrates a twist on classic cocktails. The name Monterrey Bar pays homage to the hotel’s namesake roots The Monterrey Motel which opened at 40 Island Avenue in 1953. Curated by Executive Chef Andrew Gilbert are designed to pair with the curated beverage menu, reflecting the cool, dark speakeasy style of Monterrey Bar. The T-shaped bar with Amazonite stone is a dramatic focal point and provides an intimate place to gather. Afromosia wall paneling and plush carpet emulating the ocean are tied together beneath a Murano glass chandelier. Ardor’s beverage program features cocktails that are prepared thoughtfully, using locally sourced ingredients. Inspired by and named after the color spectrum, Ardor cocktails reflect the vegetable-forward concept of the restaurant’s menu. Pink, for example, blends blanco tequila, pomegranate, gochujang, and yuzu to create a spicy and flavorful cocktail using winter fruit.
