America’s largest luxury watch event, WatchTime New York, has become a fixture of Manhattan’s fall event calendar and a can’t-miss event for watch lovers worldwide. The public wristwatch exhibition will return to Midtown Manhattan for its fifth year, October 25-26.  This year, the event is bigger than ever with a record 37 watch brands participating in the show. With ticketed admission, the public can try on and experience more new, rare wristwatches than anywhere else in the United States.

The year marks several other milestones for event producer WatchTime Magazine. In 2019, the award-winning watch media platform is celebrating 20 years of publication and the fifth anniversary of the WatchTime New York event. For 20 years, WatchTime Magazine has brought wristwatch enthusiasts closer to the personalities behind the timepieces with engaging print and digital content. WatchTime New York was launched to provide an immersive and luxurious experience that unites brands and enthusiasts in a hands-on, social event.

“Our goal with WatchTime New York has always been to take the energy and educational content from the WatchTime multimedia channels and magazine pages and translate it into a meaningful, real-life experience for our network of collectors. We want the magazine to come to life for the attendees and make sure they walk away with memorable experiences…and maybe even a new watch!” says Roger Ruegger, WatchTime Editor-in-Chief.

WatchTime New York kicks off with its much-anticipated luxury cocktail party on Friday, October 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday night tickets ($150) give guests the first chance to see the broad range of timepieces on display, including made-in-America timepieces, one-of-a-kind wristwatches, limited-edition models, and million-dollar watches from brands such as Omega, Breguet, Grand Seiko, MB&F, RGM, Montblanc, Greubel Forsey, and more. Party attendees also get to mingle with VIP idols from the world of watches, including design visionaries, up-and-coming watchmakers, and brand founders like Stephen Forsey, Fiona Kruger, Romain Gauthier, Roland Murphy, Rex Rexhepi, Christophe Claret, and Kari Voutilainen, to name a few. Guests can also interact with influencers, brand ambassadors, and WatchTime editors while enjoying the top-shelf open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and tasty catered fare at several food stations throughout the evening.

The celebration will continue on Saturday, October 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a full day of expert talks that analyze trending topics in the watch world. Past panels have covered everything from trade trends and designer Q&As to high-profile collectors’ panels and talks on American microbrands and the watches of James Bond. The 2019 Saturday WatchTime New York event schedule has just been announced and will include the following panel discussions: The Chronograph 101 (10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.), The Golden Age of Watchmaking: Past or Present? hosted by noted collector and consultant Jeff Kingston (12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.), and What Makes Young Collectors Tick, hosted by WatchTime Editor Logan Baker: (2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.)

Jeff Kingston will also host a talk and tour of the latest novelties, including watches never seen before in the United States. Throughout the day, guests can get hands-on experience with the world’s most fascinating luxury watch brands as well as broader insights into the art, science, tech, and culture of watch collecting and watchmaking in the U.S. today. Friday ticket admission ($150) includes full-day Saturday entry, and Saturday-only tickets are also available ($50).

“We are looking forward to another banner year at WatchTime New York, as year after year we see more attendees and more brands signing on than ever before,” said Sara Orlando, WatchTime Publisher. “The WatchTime team is proud that the event has become an institution for the industry, for collectors, and for the city of New York, and we can’t wait to see what year five will bring.”
