As Thanksgiving approaches, so do our next family functions. And we could all use a drink or two for that. Here are two festive holiday cocktail recipes from Equiano Rum, and Great Jones Distilling Co. sure to liven up the celebrations.

Equiano Drunken Pumpkin (above)
Ingredients

2oz Equiano Original

1oz Real Pumpkin puree

0.5oz Lemon juice

0.25oz Demerara syrup

3 drops Vanilla extract

Nutmeg

Method

Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice.

Shake, strain and pour into rocks glass over ice.

Garnish with nutmeg dusting.

Great Jones Empire State Cobbler
Ingredients

2 oz Great Jones Straight Bourbon

1 oz Apple cider

.5 oz Fresh lemon juice, strained

.5 oz Orgeat syrup (such as Fee Brothers)

1 Dehydrated apple slice

Nutmeg for grinding

Method

Combine the liquid ingredients in an ice-filled cocktail shaker.

Shake vigorously and strain into an ice-filled double Old Fashioned glass.

Grate nutmeg on top and garnish with a dehydrated apple slice.
