A Jaguar XKR for 2011

For the racy and sleek man at heart, very few cars can compare with the classic reputation of a Jaguar. With the top up, or down, Jaguar’s XK–Convertible (also available in hard top) stops the show and makes everyone’s head turn.

The sexy, aggressive, lightweight aluminum body design of the XK is directly attributed to Ian Callum, a British car designer who rose to major acclaim with the design of Aston Martin’s DB8. Since his arrival, Callum has been credited with “making Jaguar relevant again.”

Supercharged with the addition of an “R,” means 510 horses in the all new 5.0 liter V8 engine. Translation: 461 pound-feet of torque for 0 to 60 miles in 4.6 seconds. An R to the XK also includes twin hood louvers, quad tail pipes, special insignia on the front and rear fascia, steering wheel and soft-grain (cooled and heated) leather seats. Of course it’s totally keyless, thanks to Jag’s Smart key system, and navigation is a given. For something as simple as a call on the Bluetooth, or as essential as your personal theme song, the powerfully rich in sound clarity Bowers & Wilkins 525 watt premium sound system is the perfect solution.

Starting at $96,125, Jaguar’s XKR delivers heart pounding excitement to both the driver and passenger of this two seater coupe for grand touring. A center console mounted JaguarDrive Selector takes the car from park to drive and all other gears in between with the simple turn of a polished rotary knob. It will leave both passengers and valet attendants mesmerized by its beauty, in the absence of a stick on the steering column, from out the floor.

When no one is looking you can release the urge to remain macho by fighting the smiles that come naturally to the driver experiencing XKR’s superfluous handling on curves and corners. Special thanks to the combination of power, performance and Active Differential Control that helps keep the 19″ wheels in harmony with one another. And the feeling to be experienced when the pedal is put to the metal can best be described as taking flight in the lap of luxury.

Being behind the wheel of an XKR may be the equivalent to starring in a box office hit, whereby you can’t help but be pleased knowing you’ve put out a worthy performance. That’s the Jaguar experience.

What a great way to bring an end to the recession!
