Casio is expanding its lineup of EDIFICE timepieces with the all-new ECB2000MFG1A. The model is designed in collaboration with Shuichi Shigeno, the artist behind two landmark motorsports-themed manga series, Initial D and MF GHOST, the latter of which is set to premiere as an anime series in 2023.

Geared toward motorsports and anime enthusiasts alike, the new ECB2000MFG1A captures the dynamic realism of the street-racing world depicted in the two manga series. The watch design evokes the look of the Toyota GT86 driven by the protagonist in the manga with vibrant accents of metallic red on the bezel and dial, along with design features inspired by the car’s grille pattern and tachometer.

The outer surface of the band, which is made with highly durable CORDURA nylon fabric, displays the names of racing courses that appear in the work. The case back is engraved with the title logos of both manga series while the metal band loop sports a laser-engraved design representing the tire track of a drifting car that’s burning rubber. The underside of the band, which is finished in black leather material, also features “Fujiwara Tofu Shop (Private Use),” the familiar lettering on the side of the Toyota AE86 driven by Takumi Fujiwara, the protagonist in Initial D.

The new ECB2000MFG1A comes equipped with Smartphone Link technology. By downloading the CASIO Watches app and pairing it to a compatible smartphone via Bluetooth, the ECB2000MFG1A automatically updates to the correct time zone depending on the user’s current location in up to 300 cities worldwide. Additional features include water resistance up to 100 meters, Tough Solar Power, a 1/100 second (60-minute) stopwatch, date display, dual time, daily alarm, full auto-calendar, and more.

The ECB2000MFG1A (MSRP: $399) is now available for purchase on Casio.com.
