Zoe Saldana, Hugh Jackman, and Zach Galifianakis star in the new stop-motion animated feature “Missing Link,’ opening tomorrow Friday April 12. We at HOMBRE had the opportunity to attend the film’s pre-reception and premiere, and share the special moment with the cast and production team.

The film tracks the story of fearless explorer Sir Lionel Frost (Jackman) as he encounters the prehistoric creature which he lovingly names Mr. Link (Galifianakis). Tired of living a solitary life in the Pacific Northwest, Mr. Link recruits the explorer to guide him on a journey to find his long-lost relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La. Along the way they meet Adelina Fortnight (Saldana), and together the trio encounter their fair share of peril as they travel to the far reaches of the world.

Hugh Jackman is Sir Lionel Frost

Mr. Link may be 8 feet tall, 630 lbs, and covered in fur, but don’t let his appearance fool you… he is funny, sweet, and adorably literal, making him the world’s most lovable legend at the heart of Missing Link, the globe-trotting family adventure from LAIKA.

The film is full of heart, delivering a message audiences may need to hear, especially as we celebrate Easter and Passover, a holiday season where loved ones come together. The message is clear, through all the adventures, trials, and tribulations these characters face, in the end they learn that sometimes one can find a family in the places one least expects.

Theresa Saldana is Adelina Fortnight

It’s worthy to note that Saldana’s character, Adelina Fortnight, is a feisty Latina. The Dominican actress infuses her character with plenty of drive, strength, and Spanish phrases to capture her strong Latin essence.

“Missing Link” is written and directed by Chris Butler, with a cast that also includes Timothy Olyphant, David Walliams, Emma Thompson, Matt Lucas, Ching Valdes-Aran, Stephen Fry, and Amrita Acharia.
